Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) has a Tier-1 automotive client in the Lansing, MI area seeking a Tooling Engineer for Direct Hire.
  Role Summary

  • To observe DexSys health and safety objectives and support Company directed health and safety directives which provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all DexSys employees.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage DexSys tools from business award to end of program.  
  • Write RFQ' s (new tooling and engineering changes).  Assess quotes from tool suppliers and explain costs to Program managers.
  • Review mold flow, warp analysis, and other design reviews with Molding Dept.
  • Follow tool builds, tool trials (internal and external) and engineering changes – report status to program manager.
  • Manage open issues lists for tooling issues and progress reports on new programs.
  • Assist tooling manager in updating and maintaining the DexSys Tool Build Spec Book(s).
  • Assist tooling manager in tool design reviews with DexSys internal team and tool suppliers.
  • Set up and populate a Lessons Learned/ Best Practices/ Part Warpage library.
  • Manage data transfers to tool suppliers - in /out and translations.
  • Assess and approve tier II mold designs and manage Tier II tooling design library.
  • Manage Complete Customer documentation/ QS/TS/  Timelines.
  • Manage " end of program" scrap out procedures for DexSys and Tier II' s.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum five years of experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Minimum of associates degree in technical field and/or journeyman’ s certification
