Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Quality Engineer work in the Chicago, IL area working for a leading engineering and consulting firm. This position offers a variety of great benefits including competitive salary, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
Qualifications
Bachelor’degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field required
Knowledge of inspection, control methods, techniques and documentation
Knowledge of statistical theory and principles, SPC and tools
Interpersonal skills suitable for interfacing with various levels of the organization
Responsibilities
Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting Quality Assurance, including ISO requirements & compliance, and supplier quality programs
This person will report directly to the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing
Ensure clarity and consistency of the ISO requirements across all facilities
Conduct second party audits at all facilities to ensure ISO compliance
Support and lead Quality Assurance to meet the demands of customer driven quality improvements and the expanding needs of a growing company
Monitor customer satisfaction and lead the resolution and prevention of customer complaints
Support and provide leadership for the Supplier Quality program
Perform Quality systems audits of suppliers as needed
Ensure effective manufacturing process control programs that maintain focus on prevention of customer quality issues
Support plant cost reductions and process improvement projects through various Quality tools such as FMEA, process capability, Gage R&R, SPC, pareto analysis and other six sigma/lean tools
Write protocols and perform validations of new/improved materials and processes
Continuously improve Quality Assurance capabilities and effectiveness by setting and achieving specified goals/metrics
Travel up to 25% of the time may be required
Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role
Facilitate supplier quality status and reporting
Initiate corrective actions to create value and mitigate risk in the supply chain
Drive meaningful improvements for customers (internal and external) via the Business System and its tools
Show demonstrable leadership of supply chain quality including supply selections, supplier validations, supplier development and supply quality monitoring
Lead teams to drive improvements to internal and external supplier quality via targeting breakthrough results
