Job Description
ITS has a client in the Toledo area seeking a Product Line Manager. This is a direct hire role with full benefits including 401k.
- Ideal Candidate:
- Detail oriented mechanical engineer with large capital equipment design experience
- Has a strong desire to learn and then apply that knowledge to develop next generation glass forming technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to travel to domestic and international locations.
- Track record of Innovation
- 2-5 years management experience
- Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and design various components of glass bending and tempering systems customized to customer specifications
- Investigate and create new designs in 3D modeling, AutoCAD Inventor preferred
- Conduct validation testing at customers sites.
- Direct process validation trials on new glass forming equipment and tools.
- Augment equipment start up activities on new equipment or retrofits on existing equipment.
- Work with all departments on cost reduction and technology improvement.
- In 2 to 3 years, mange the development activities for a specific technology platform.
- Requirements :
- BS in Engineering preferred
- Experience in managing projects and teams.
- 10 plus years experience in capital equipment or machine design
- Knowledge or experience in the following is preferred
- Glass Bending and Tempering or Annealing
- Glass Furnaces
- Conveying mechanisms
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Mechanical and/or AutoCAD Inventor
- Excellent communication skills across disciplines
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally of the time.
- Could have one trip that lasts 8 weeks per year.
- Normal travel levels are between 10 to 25% of the time.
