ITS is working with a local manufacturing leader who has been in business for nearly 40 years and is in need of an Operations Manager. Responsibilities of the Operations Manager include;
Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations of a low volume manufacturing facility
Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
Attend weekly meetings with management to assure production schedules are established and met
Coordinate work between 1st and 2nd shifts
Scheduling work for employees based on their level of fabrication skill
Lead efforts for continuous improvement process that will help the facility run more efficiently
Oversee vast operations talent including welders, fabricators, machinists, machine operators, and shipping and receiving personnel
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards including developing KPI data to find places of waste or overtime, while maintaining quality standards
Oversee plant safety, including improving and enforcing plant safety procedures
Fostering a trusting relationship with employees and overseeing employee recruiting, developing, and supervision
Qualifications
7+ years of proven manufacturing leadership experience in a low volume environment
A “lead by example”mentality that will help set standards and expectations
Experience setting a master production schedule
Experience within a steel fabrication environment is preferred but not required
