Integrated Talent Stratgies (ITS) is seeking an Engineering Manager in Toledo, OH. This is a direct hire position full-time.
Oversee new product launches in engineering. Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for all product launch activities (including die design and build guidelines, tooling runoff acceptance criteria, etc.). Create cost models and budgetary quotes for all stamping projects, including developing initial strip layouts, estimating piece prices, tooling and capital expenses, etc. Work closely with the prototype center to document successful processes and designs and translate those into the production tool(s). Manage all product launches including developing timelines and setting milestones, tool vendor selection, tool vendor designs and builds, tool design and budget reviews, troubleshooting, runoffs and handoff to production. Create proposals and presentations for new technologies and cost saving opportunities to upper management.
Managed 5 large stamping programs with budgets ranging from $100, 000 up to $750, 000 with condensed timelines from inception to completion.
Researched, evaluated and selected tooling vendors capable of designing and building dies, gages, and fixtures. Have found (and utilized) several capable vendors to meet part specifications.
Streamlined and created/revised procedures and forms including Engineering Change Requests (ECR's), Product Data Management (PDM), stamping cost models, and die-build guidelines (both for internal and external use).
Implemented new die improvements and processes to reduce coolant usage, reliably apply coolant to die stations, provide poke-a-yoke methods, and provide easy accessibility to components.
Responsible for setting up training and operating systems for reverse engineering parts with no prints or documentation (with a FARO roamer arm).
