The Director of Engineering provides strategic and operational leadership for the Buildings Department. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality engineering services, compliance with industry regulations, and alignment with business growth objectives. The ideal candidate will bring experience in team leadership. Possess a valid PE license, and demonstrate a strong background in client engagement and business development.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers
Promote a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration
Oversee staff planning, recruitment, performance reviews, and professional development initiatives
Manage engineering projects from conception to completion
Develop and implement business development strategies
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Maintain strong client relationships and address any client concerns
Collaborate with other leaders to align company goals
Set priorities, manage budgets, and monitor KPIs for engineering performance
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to lead with integrity and earn respect from staff and clients
Proficient in engineering software and project management tools
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural engineering
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
Minimum of 8 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
