Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) has a Tier-1 automotive client in the Lansing, MI area seeking a Customer Quality Engineer for Direct Hire.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the customer corrective action process according to due dates.
Support the customer plants (including Warranty) and liaisons when customer issues arise.
Support breakpoint activity and reporting to assure robust containment.
Champion root cause corrective actions with manufacturing team to assure timely and effective actions.
Verification and audit of corrective actions.
Prepare defect and corrective action reports for monthly KPI reporting.
Monitor and respond to customer concerns using the prescribed format (QPF, PPS, SPPSQ, DEXCAR).
Monitor quality costs with regards to quality spills, including warranty issues.
Responsible for understanding compliance to customer specific requirements.
Be actively involved in internal audit program and support for IATF audits.
Participate in continuous improvement, APQP, and Lean Thinker to support
and achieve mini goals as assigned by the Department Manager.
Flexible hours of work essential to support production
Ensure that all accidents are properly reported, and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Related Work Experience
Minimum three years'experience in quality and process control in automotive painted plastic parts manufacturing.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills required.
Experience with MS Office applications and MS Window operating systems.
Experience with customer and supplier portals
Educational Requirements
An Associates, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience preferred
Knowledge of IATF 16949 core tools (FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, APQP)
Knowledge of automotive quality systems such as IATF 16949, and ISO 9001.
IATF lead auditor certification
