Job Summary:
Controls engineers are responsible for ensuring that the company  creates the best products possible in the most efficient manner. They are highly analytical and use these skills to examine and improve processes in order to increase productivity. At the same time, they are responsible for ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained. As they perform these functions, controls engineers must also be able to work with other departments and external parties to create and implement processes to increase the company' s efficiency. This career opportunity includes the following responsibilities: Completes electrical concept design, final electrical design, Bill of Material, release, and final documentation of both hardware and PLC & HMI programming using AutoCAD and various PLC and HMI programming software for custom machine and robot integration projects, per customer specifications / requirements. Reads and designs schematics and control panel layouts in AutoCAD, including maintaining and updating drawings to ensure they are kept current. Programs PLCs utilizing Rockwell ControlLogix and RSLogix series of software, in addition to other software. Development of HMIs utilizing Rockwell FactoryTalk and RSView series of software. Willing to learn new software as needed. Designs, codes, tests, corrects, and documents moderately complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications, using agreed standards and tools. Conducts reviews of supplied specifications, with others as appropriate. Takes responsibility for understanding customer requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis, developing and monitoring timetables and project schedules, and problem resolution. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited. Travel to customer sites for diagnosis, installation and startup support of custom machinery and automation. Required travel is around 20-30%. We are undergoing moderate growth. Core work hours will be 45 hours per week, and 50-60 hours for projects during peak work load. Strong communication skills: verbal, written, presentation, and inter-personal.
Minimum 7  Years' Experience in the Following:
Microsoft Office standard software, ie. Word, Excel, Etc. Reading and designing schematics and control panel layouts in AutoCAD PLC programming utilizing Rockwell ControlLogix and RSLogix series of software. Other PLC brands experience a plus. Industrial Networking experience including: Ethernet/IP, Control Net, and Device Net. HMI development utilizing Rockwell FactoryTalk and RSView series of software. Other HMI development and Visual Basic experience is a plus. Requires an Associate' s degree or Bachelor' s degree in related field. Preferred degree is EET.
