Chemical Engineer;
Conducts research, analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on plastics, for such purposes as product and process development and application, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologies by performing the following duties.
Essential functions:
Develop materials and manufacturing processes that minimize waste and increase the quality of the finished product.
Plans and directs project work for the lab.
Conducts research on manufactured products to develop and improve products.
Conducts research into (plastics) composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of materials. Conduct experiments as needed.
Leads and/or participates in problem solving activities related to materials and testing.
Prepare and maintains standards, specifications and procedures for processes products, and tests.
Analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties.
Maintains the lab facility and equipment in good working order and to high 5S standards.
Bachelor Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field required. Laboratory experience in plastics.
