Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Paint and Waste Treatment Systems Tech  to work in the Williamsburg, IA area.   This position offers a variety of great benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

Summary of Responsibilities 
Ensures proper testing, maintenance and operation of the paint and waste treatment systems in accordance with: company policies; procedures; local, state and federal regulations; and recommended best practices.
  Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all EPA, IDNR and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain wastewater compliance with city codes
  • Comply with Environmental Management System per ISO-14001 requirements
  • Troubleshoot problems of mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic nature
  • Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion
  • Able to read and interpret equipment instructions, diagrams, schematics, and mechanical prints
  • Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory
  • Perform minor equipment repairs which do not require extensive technical knowledge or outside expertise to include repair of pumps, valves and piping in waste water and paint system treatment
  • Responsible for cleaning and preventive maintenance activities including spare parts, tooling, etc. To ensure optimal operation of all systems
  • Operate fork lift, high lift and all maintenance department equipment
  • Ensure timely startup and operation of the paint line to defined production levels; monitor equipment and setting to maintain proper operation of cleaning, pre-treatment, paint, cure, and wastewater treatment systems to meet production, safety, and housekeeping goals
  • Verify proper operation of the paint line by performing required laboratory, visual, and physical inspection and monitoring activities of both process and product for paint systems
  • Control chemical inventory and ordering for all paint systems to ensure maximum productivity, quality, health, safety and environmental outcomes and minimum cost
  • Control paint inventory and ordering of all paint stock as needed
  • Organize and maintain drum storage shed
  • Produce timely, neat, and accurate reports documenting paint and wastewater treatment system performance
  • Conduct equipment calibration and verification; maintain necessary documentation
  • Promote and facilitate Open Door process, effective communication and Fair Treatment
  • Participate in Continual Improvement activities
  • Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
  • Maintain punctuality and outstanding attendance record
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Able to read and interpret customer paint specs, and paint performance testing reports
  • Able to properly use testing equipment such as pH meters and conductivity meter
  • Confined space training
  • Hazmat DOT training
  Education and Experience
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Competent with gas, arc, MIG and TIG welding
  • On the job training with other Paint Technicians
  • Thorough knowledge of the spray equipment, process, and chemicals must be demonstrated either through on the job performance or thorough vendor training programs and appropriate post high school training.
  • Experience with cathodic electrodeposition coatings and wastewater treatment for cathodic electrodeposition coatings preferred
  • Attain wastewater treatment certification within 12 months of position start
  • Licensed forklift operator
  • Spill Team member
  • Attend Magna required waste water training
  • Attend any supplier training such as zinc phosphate training and electro coat training
  Physical Demands
  • The physical demands require the paint technician to regularly move about the facility and maintain the paint system without fail.  The paint technician must be able to move drums of chemicals and operate heavy-duty floor cleaning equipment.  The technician must be able to stand for a prolonged period and be able to climb and lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent and repetitive basis.
  • Move 700 pound drums with a drum cart. Able to climb and lift up to 50 pounds on a periodic basis
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Will occasionally work at heights of up to 40 feet and in confined spaces
