Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Direct Hire.They are a global equipment manufacturer with a state-of-the-art facility and offer generous compensation, a strong benefits package, and 2-weeks of paid vacation.   This position  will lead a Manufacturing Engineering department responsible for creating and maintaining effective production flow through the factory

Position Summary:    This position will assist Business Unit Managers and Supervisors in Production to achieve operating targets, implement the Operating Strategy, and deliver measurable results in their respective areas.  This person will assist the Chief Operating Officer to drive development of technical competencies, critical thinking, and lean mindset to enable an effective, efficient and predictable Operations Team.   
 
Essential Functions:
  • Evaluates current processes and develops, implements and maintains all changes with consideration of Operating efficiencies; owner for Continuous Improvement (Lean Mindset) and works with his/her department to lead lean initiatives for key Operations projects
  • Recommends and/or makes improvements in business unit / value stream machinery, equipment, industrialization and manufacturing methods and provides capital investment justification to the leadership team; links implementation to balanced set of KPIs to assess effectiveness of the technology
  • Develops manufacturing planning, initial tooling requirements and costs, capability requirements, control plans, and assessments, which facilitate the definition and specification of manufacturing processes
  • Establishes and implements manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts and organization, and station controls that optimize value added operations, operating costs, lead time / cycle time, and product / process quality
  • Recommends appropriate fabrication processes considering, functionality, volumes and cost targets
  • Identifies biggest knowledge gaps and provide guidance/training in data collection and analytics, systematic problem solving, and root-cause analysis; leads department to use data-based systemic problem solving and corrective action
  • Serves as an enterprise resource for cause / effect analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning
  • Develops and manages transfer plans for new products, product upgrades, and engineering changes
  • Investigates and diagnoses causes of breakdowns and develops / implements preventative and predictive maintenance programs to improve reliability
  • Manages the maintenance department and takes an active role in driving development projects and value engineering to ensure consistent evaluation and documentation of technologies, processes, adequate configuration and preventative maintenance of systems and equipment
  • Coordinates maintenance, engineering and process development initiatives to ensure increased efficiencies
