• Works independently within Supervisory guidelines or outside the plant without Supervision • Supports the facility by recommending productivity and systems improvements • Supports manager and supervisor in program establishment and follow-up all program stages (timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off, prototype programs, engineering changes, program packaging requirements including unit load manuals). • Prepares reports, charts and other documentation required for engineering records and projects • Must be able to apply standard industrial engineering practices • Must be capable of assisting in handling projects from inception to completion under the direction of Engineering Manager • Assist conducting method analysis and improvements to work station design including recommendation to replace equipment • Facility layout • Work in process, Component, and Finished goods packaging • Works with production departments and customers to design solutions to improve production planning and product movement • Aids in design of racks and containers in cooperation with advanced manufacturing engineering • Recommends changes to simplify procedures and reduce process time, while maintaining or improving part quality
• Minimum 5 years in automotive industry in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or similar field • Lean Six Sigma - Greenbelt / Blackbelt preferred • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills • Excellent organizational and communication skills both verbal and written • Good knowledge of 3D CAD design • Able to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.) • Must be able to work in a strictly confidential matter • Able to work effectively within a team environment • Knowledge of IATF16949, ISO-14001, APQP procedures, Quality engineering, supplier management, blueprint reading, advanced measuring techniques, Microsoft Office programs • Working knowledge of AutoCad / Microsoft Office: Excel, Work, and PowerPoint • Must be able to understand written instructions
Education and Experience Required
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred • Engineering Degree / Diploma or Equivalent
