Our products have extensive applications in the following market segments: petroleum, Client, power fossil & nuclear, specialty chemicals, mining/metals, waste water, pulp & paper and others requiring continuous power for mission critical applications.Qualifications: The Transformer Design Engineer is an energetic individual who will work with members of the design and project teams to create next generation power supply systems. The successful candidate will employ proven as well as innovative techniques as part of the R&D team to deliver competitive products to the market place.Experience: The Transformer Design Engineer must have a proven track record of successful project management. Electrical design experience utilizing AutoCAD is also required as well as strong time-management and communication skills. Individual must be a self starter.Education: Bachelor of Science degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and a minimum of 3-5 years in related industry/field experience is required. Prior design experience utilizing AutoCAD is required.Specific Responsibilities: The Transformer Design Engineer is responsible for managing all wound component design used in client projects from initial engineering/design through shipment. Duties will include design review of engineering documents and specifications, calculation, design creation of bills of material and coordination with manufacturing and test groups. This position will also directly interface with our client s engineering and sales groups to help facilitate product solutions. Additionally, the role focuses on value analysis and value engineering of all magnetic componentry. Additional key facets of the role include" Deep understanding of Transformer and Inductor design" Comprehensive knowledge of thermal management of magnetic components" Thorough understanding of material applications in magnetics" Value analysis and value engineering techniques employed in magnetic design" Understanding and experience in agency product approvals (UL, cUL, CE) of magnetics" Analysis of technical and customer requirements, originate solutions and accomplish objectives in the most efficient and economical manner" Communicate and cooperate with sales, marketing and production departments as well as being an integral member and team player within the R&D department and transformer department" All other duties as assigned
