ITS has a client in the Maumee, OH area seeking an Outside Sales Rep. This is a direct hire position with full benefits and salary plus commission.
The Outside Sales Representative will grow sales and increase company profits by cultivating current customers and recruiting new customers. The sales rep will increase sales and profitability by promoting plumbing, heating, and industrial products, providing technical support, educating, assisting with product selection based on the company's offerings via bids and proposals based on the customers needs and job requirements/specifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Comes to work with a positive "can do”attitude
Cultivate and grow rapport with new and existing customer base
Meet customers at their place of business, jobsite, or other location to review opportunities
Establish a well-organized sales call process, establishing contacts with all personnel involved in the decision making or purchasing decisions
Follow up on quotes and proposals in a timely manner to develop feedback for any lost orders and to show appreciation to customers for bids awarded
Work in a joint effort with any personnel or vendor representatives to make sales presentations or problem-solving sales calls
Deliver material to customer sites when a delivery is required that does not fall within our normal delivery pattern
Attend company functions and trainings
Perform counter sales on Saturday according to the rotational schedule
Recommend products to customers, based on customers'needs, interests and code requirements
Prepare quotation and submittal information to customers via Phone, Email, or Fax
Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers'needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information
Consult with vendors and suppliers on products and negotiate cost for quotations
Read blueprints, job take offs, and customers list and generate bids based on requirements, investigating available options and alternatives.
Maintain quotation and job files
Consult with customers via Email, and phone selling and informing customer on products, pricing and availability
Assisting with face-to-face counter sales, receive and process payments for cash sales
Assisting with phone sales
Enter orders received in any format: Verbal, Email, purchase orders, etc.
Generate Job submittals and Operation & Maintenance Manuals
Communicate with co-workers and purchasing about pending jobs and quotations
Communicate with customers and outside sales staff regarding upcoming commercial jobs
Use online services to download plans and specifications and then create job folders for members of quote team to bid.
Communicate with vendors regarding open bids and obtaining special pricing
Education Level, Credentials and Experience:
Two years related experience in wholesale distribution
Two years'experience in the HVAC/Plumbing industry
