Job Description

Candidate must have previous law firm experience to be eligible for this role. Integrated Talent Strategies is seeking a Financial Analyst for a hybrid role in Cleveland, Ohio. This position will provide a base salary, 401k and full health, vision and dental benefits and is a full-time permanent role.

As a key member of the Finance Team, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for conducting routine and ad-hoc reporting, the annual budgeting process, general financial analysis, profitability analysis, attorney compensation committee support as well as reporting on metrics in support of practice area management. Also, may have various treasury related responsibilities and be involved with the annual tax and cash reporting activities.

Essential Functions:
  • Support the annual financial planning process including drafting budgeting instructions, drafting plan assumptions, preparing draft plans and final plan documents and preparing monthly analysis of results versus plan.
  • Support the annual budgeting process by maintaining budgeting templates in the financial reporting software, preparing budgeting guidelines, providing support, reviewing draft budgets and proposing budget changes.
  • Support the legal practices by producing ad hoc and routine analysis of legal department, clients, geographic locations, and types of business for purposes of determining scope of business, growth and profitability.
  • Perform Practice Group analysis as well as work side by side with Practice Group leaders to help guide and instruct on financial results and give presentations to members.
  • Support the monthly close process of the firm's consolidated financial books and records.
  • Produce and audit reports on activity and other metrics to be included in the monthly financial reporting package.
  • Actively contribute to the creation and improvement of standard reporting of law firm metrics to be used by internal management for the purposes of managing their practice or function within the firm.
  • Support the annual determination of partner compensation and work directly with the Managing Partner and Compensation Committee.
  • Update, report and improve upon the Lawyer and Client profitability models
  • Support as needed various ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in financial reporting and analysis, or equivalent is required. Public Accounting experience and CPA preferred. Experience working in a law firm or service industry is strongly preferred. Must possess strong technical analysis skills and advanced Excel capabilities. Must have the ability to analyze financial data and prepare concise reports to assist management in understanding the variances and make risk assessments.

The ability to multi-task with minimum supervision is required. Knowledge of legal services financial reporting systems such as Aderant or Elite is preferred.

  • Able to provide strategic input, as well as hands-on assistance as needed to complete departmental responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication/presentation and interpersonal skills with ability to work successfully with key stakeholders.
  • Must be a team player and be open to feedback and criticism for the benefit of growth.
